Childish Gambino – “Freaks and Geeks”

Donald Glover, aka Childish Gambino, is a rapper/writer/actor/graduate of NYU who is taking the underground hip hop world by storm.  Gambino got his name from a Wu-Tang Clan name generator and credits his rapping to his education at NYU. Aside from rapping, Glover writes for 30 Rock as well as stars in NBC’s Community.  This multi-talented up and comer is on the verge of becoming a star.  Enjoy the above video from his new EP, appropriately entitled ‘EP’ and check out more of his music here.

30 Minutes or Less

30 Minutes or Less is guaranteed to be a smash hit comedy this summer.  Directed by the guy who did Zombieland, starring Jesse Eisenberg (Social Network), Danny McBride (Eastbound and Down), Nick Swardson (Reno 911) and Aziz Ansari (Parks and Recreations), this looks like it is going to be absolutely hilarious.  There’s really nothing else we can say, just watch the red band trailer above.

The Last Innocent Programs

USC, Oregon, Ohio State, Oklahoma and Tennessee are football programs synonymous with winning National Championships.  Aside from the championships, they share another common bond:  all have been linked to or convicted of major NCAA violations.  We posted an article on Ohio State’s recent struggles a couple of weeks ago.  After the recent Buckeye fiasco, The Wall Street Journal conducted an investigation to find if there were ANY schools in the major conferences who have not been in trouble with the NCAA (hint: not many).  This interesting piece is a must read for any college football fan.  Check the article here.

Drake – “Dreams Money Can Buy”

Drake has taken a good amount of time off since his debut platinum album, Thank Me Later.  He recently made a stellar featured appearance on DJ Khaled’s, “I’m on One“, where he announced that he is back in the lab with his best friend/producer Noah “40” Shebib working on his next album, Take Care.  40 cleverly samples Jai Paul’s  “BTSTU” while Drizzy provides the introspective, insecure, emo lyrics we have become accustomed to, giving us our first taste of new Drake material.  Although emo, you can’t help but admire one of hip hop’s most versatile and talented artists.

David Guetta ft. Taio Cruz & Ludacris – “Little Bad Girl”

David Guetta has become the go-to techno/electro/rap/pop hit maker over the past couple of years.  About two months ago, Guetta released his smash hit “Where Dem Girls At” featuring Flo Rida and Nicki Minaj.  The song was a big hit and was number one on iTunes for a couple of weeks.  He also released the above song, however, it seemed to be lacking a little bit of magic…enter: the one and only Ludacris.  Luda’s infectious flow and witty lyrics bring a welcomed energy to the track. Definitely a great song to have for any dance party.

Lil Wayne – “Dear Anne”

Lil Wayne has been a busy man lately.  Whether it’s partying with the Dallas Mavericks or performing for MTV Unplugged; Wayne is certainly back in the spotlight after a year at Riker’s for gun possession.  Wayne is prepping his follow up the hugely successful Carter III, The Carter IV.  And while there have been plenty of delays and mixed reviews on the album’s first few singles, Wayne is getting closer to giving the fans what they want.  In this chilling song produced by Swizz Beatz, Wayne writes to a fan hoping to prevent Stan Part II.

Moneyball

Two years ago Michael Lewis’ book, The Blindside, was turned into a motion picture.  $300 million and an Oscar for Sandra Bullock later, Michael Lewis became a hot commodity in Hollywood. Lewis’ best book is widely considered as Moneyball, an inside look into the Oakland A’s during the early 2000’s.  Now Hollywood is hoping this is another hit.  With Brad Pitt starring as Billy Beane (the A’s risk taking general manager) in Aaron Sorkin’s (see: The Social Network) screenplay supported by stars Robin Wright Penn, Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Jonah Hill, this movie is sure to be a hit.
